What Is Bonded Storage
A CUSTOMS BONDED WAREHOUSE IS A SECURED AREA IN WHICH IMPORTED GOODS CAN BE STORED WITHOUT THE PAYMENT OF DUTY AND VAT.
This system offers the customer a more economical option of doing business, whereby the taxes for goods can be paid in increments instead of a lump sum payment with the total clearance of their shipment. The customer would only pay the taxes on the goods cleared at that point in time. This system enables the customer to clear their goods and pay clearance charges on an “as needed basis.”
Customers who wish to re-export products can do so without having to pay unnecessary taxes on the goods stored in a Customs Bonded Warehouse. The Bonded Warehouse is a cost benefit to customers as they can maximize their profit margins and offer economical pricing to their end customers.
